Count Triplets Hacker Rank Problem Solution

Count Triplets Hacker Rank Problem Solution->

Problem Statement->

You are given an array and you need to find number of tripets of indices  such that the elements at those indices are in geometric progression for a given common ratio  and .

For example, . If , we have  and  at indices  and .

Function Description

Complete the countTriplets function in the editor below. It should return the number of triplets forming a geometric progression for a given  as an integer.

countTriplets has the following parameter(s):

  • arr: an array of integers
  • r: an integer, the common ratio

Input Format

The first line contains two space-separated integers  and , the size of  and the common ratio.
The next line contains  space-seperated integers .

My Code->

#include <bits/stdc++.h>

using namespace std;

string ltrim(const string &);

string rtrim(const string &);

vector<string> split(const string &);

// Complete the countTriplets function below.

long countTriplets(vector<long> arr, long r) {

   // arr.sort(arr.begin(),arr.end());

    map<long long int  ,long long int > lmap;

    map<long long int  ,long long int > rmap;

    for(int i=0;i<arr.size();i++){

    long long int  count=0;

    for(int i=0;i<arr.size();i++){

        long long int  f=arr[i]/r;

        long long int s=arr[i];

        long long int t=arr[i]*r;

    return count ;

int main()

    ofstream fout(getenv("OUTPUT_PATH"));

    string nr_temp;

    getline(cin, nr_temp);

    vector<string> nr = split(rtrim(nr_temp));

    int n = stoi(nr[0]);

    long r = stol(nr[1]);

    string arr_temp_temp;

    getline(cin, arr_temp_temp);

    vector<string> arr_temp = split(rtrim(arr_temp_temp));

    vector<long> arr(n);

    for (int i = 0; i < n; i++) {

        long arr_item = stol(arr_temp[i]);

        arr[i] = arr_item;

    long ans = countTriplets(arr, r);

    fout << ans << "\n";

    return 0;

string ltrim(const string &str) {

    string s(str);

        find_if(s.begin(), s.end(), not1(ptr_fun<int, int>(isspace)))

    return s;

string rtrim(const string &str) {

    string s(str);

        find_if(s.rbegin(), s.rend(), not1(ptr_fun<int, int>(isspace))).base(),

    return s;

vector<string> split(const string &str) {

    vector<string> tokens;

    string::size_type start = 0;

    string::size_type end = 0;

    while ((end = str.find(" ", start)) != string::npos) {

        tokens.push_back(str.substr(start, end - start));

        start = end + 1;

    return tokens;

  1. This was very helpful.My friend was facing this issue he did exactly the same as mentioned and it was resolved.

 Apple Division CSES Problem Set Solution | CSES Problem Set Solution Apple division with code - Apple Division CSES Problem Solution Easy Explanation. Apple division is problem is taken form cses introductory problem set.Let's Read Problem statement first. Problem Statement- Time limit:  1.00 s   Memory limit:  512 MB There are  n n  apples with known weights. Your task is to divide the apples into two groups so that the difference between the weights of the groups is minimal. Input The first input line has an integer  n n : the number of apples. The next line has  n n  integers  p 1 , p 2 , … , p n p 1 , p 2 , … , p n : the weight of each apple. Output Print one integer: the minimum difference between the weights of the groups. Constraints 1 ≤ n ≤ 20 1 ≤ n ≤ 20 1 ≤ p i ≤ 10 9 1 ≤ p i ≤ 10 9 Example Input: 5 3 2 7 4 1 Output: 1 Explanation: Group 1 has weights 2, 3 and 4 (total weight 9), and group 2 has weights 1 and 7 (total weight 8). Merge Two sorted array Without Extra Space

Problem statement-  Given two sorted arrays arr1[] and arr2[] of sizes N and M in non-decreasing order. Merge them in sorted order without using any extra space. Modify arr1 so that it contains the first N elements and modify arr2 so that it contains the last M elements.    Example 1: Input:  N = 4, arr1[] = [1 3 5 7]  M = 5, arr2[] = [0 2 6 8 9] Output:  arr1[] = [0 1 2 3] arr2[] = [5 6 7 8 9] Explanation: After merging the two  non-decreasing arrays, we get,  0 1 2 3 5 6 7 8 9.   Example 2: Input:  N = 2, arr1[] = [10, 12]  M = 3, arr2[] = [5 18 20] Output:  arr1[] = [5 10] arr2[] = [12 18 20] Explanation: After merging two sorted arrays  we get 5 10 12 18 20. Your Task: You don't need to read input or print anything. You only need to complete the function merge() that takes arr1, arr2, N and M as input parameters and modifies them in-place so that they look like the sorted merged array when concatenated. Expected Time Complexity:  O((n+m) log(n+m)) Expected Auxilliary Space: O(1
